Collection: Gamchas / Angavastram
Gamchhas/Angavastram can be a protective piece of cloth to cover the face. It is also used by our Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi during COVID-19 pandemic.
His use of the Gamchha to cover his mouth was an endorsement of Indian ethos and is now a fashion statement. In North India when summer is at its peak, it is used by men to cover their faces and to protect from heat and dust.
Angavastram or Thundu, traditionally a white piece of cloth or stole, is worn by men from the Hindu community and is draped over the shoulders.
It goes along with South Indian dhoti or veshti, especially among the Brahmins, temple priests and Hare Krishna devotees.Even Mangalorean and Bengali grooms use this in their traditional wedding attire
